The Armed Capitalist Republic of The Silver Sky is a gargantuan, socially progressive nation, notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 14.951 billion live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, liberal, pro-business individuals juggles the competing demands of Healthcare, Defence, and Education. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 1%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology, Book Publishing, and Uranium Mining industries.

'The Anti-Government Hour' is a popular programme on many of The Silver Sky's radio stations, Coco the Clown has been elected to the nation's parliament, truth is often impossible to tell from fiction on the evening news, and citizens are enjoying a recent large cut in taxes. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. The Silver Sky's national animal is the Eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Pandora Gem.
