The Desolate Waste of The Post- Apocalypse is a massive, socially progressive nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 4.636 billion live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, corrupt individuals juggles the competing demands of Healthcare, Defence, and Commerce. Income tax is unheard of. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising fourteen-year-old boys selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Eminent domain has been abolished, the land is famous throughout the region for its rampant lawlessness, the dead are minced up and sold to people in burger form, and otherwise healthy people are being sent to internment camps because they have VODAIS. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. The Post- Apocalypse's national animal is the corpse, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the bone fragment.
