The Albertan Patriots of The Nintendo Emerates is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by Most Glorious Gamer Sean with a fair hand, and renowned for its suspicion of poets. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 19.168 billion are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Fairfax. The average income tax rate is 97%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Uranium Mining and Gambling.

Abortions are routinely performed in The Nintendo Emerates's hospitals, the government is avowedly atheist, organ donation rates are among the lowest in the region, and the breathalyser pledge is a traditional part of marriages in The Nintendo Emerates. Crime is crippling. The Nintendo Emerates's national animal is the Gunston, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Meal Plan.

The Nintendo Emerates is ranked 1st in Alberta and 181st in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring 76 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
