Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 3.463 billion are proud of their wide-ranging civil freedoms, and those who aren't tend to be dragged off the streets by men in dark suits and hustled into cars with tinted windows.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Defence, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 41%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Book Publishing, Arms Manufacturing, and Tourism industries.

Politicians are often seen with soldiers pointing guns at their heads, the nation's diplomatic missives are now delivered via sniper rifle, the country has been 'going shopping' by annexing nearby nations for their resources, and it is a common belief that a sport isn't sport if there are no decapitations. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. The Murtunian Tribes's national animal is the camel, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the coin.
