The Lands and History of the Confederacy of Middle Eastern Socialist States
After the fall of the Byzantine Empire in 1453, the Empire of Trebizond was one it's last successor states. It too was conquered by the Ottomans 8 years later, in 1461. The Ottomans Empire in turn fell in 1922, leaving Asia Minor to Turkey.While the Byzantine (And by extent Roman) Empire is now reformed in it's daughter state Basileia tôn Romaiôn, no Turkish nation yet stands opposed to it's grasp on Asia Minor. After years of anarchy and chaos in the unoccupied areas of the Turkish Peninsula, an extremely charismatic man named Muhammad Al-Judidi, backed by other Communist states, mainly the People's Republic of China, united and organized a large army of Ottoman and Seljuk Turks, Armenians, and Trebizondian Greeks, and occupied non-Imperial Turkey. They formed the Confederacy of Middle Eastern Socialist States, or CMESS.
The people now are ruled by a mostly fictitious cabinet, with the Universal Maoist Party at the head. Other parties worth mentioning are:

The Trebizondian Imperial Front
The Premier Chairman is Eternal and Glorious Leader Muhammad Al-Judidi of the Universal Maoist Party
The Adviser of Security is Redeem Yidal of the Muslim Brotherhood
The Adviser of Industrial and Consumer Production is Pep Al-Ayin of the Universal Maoist Party
The Adviser of Agriculture is Grigori Tsoukalos of the Trebizondian Imperial Front
The Adviser of Population Distribution and Control is Sadiq Bassime of the Workers under Allah Movement
The economy of CMESS is largely agricultural, being one the few agriculturally self-sufficient nations in the world. Most of the manufacturing industry is located in the West, while the Northern coast has a booming fishing industry.
The Ethnic Demographics of CMESS
55 million ethnic Turks,
11.2 million Trebzondians*
9.3 million Kurds,
3,000,000 Zazas,
870,000 Arabs,
25,000 Assyrians/Syriacs living in the CMESS.
*-The Trebizondian "ethnic group" is a conglomerate of the Serb, Circassian, Albanian, Bosniak, Georgian, Pomak, Laz, Armenian, Jewish, Greek, and other Trans-Caucasian/European ethnic groups.
While the Confederacy has no state religion, most of it population is Sunni Muslim, and follows the teachings if the Prophet Muhammad.
The Capital of CMESS is Trebizond, as Ankara was all but destroyed by Imperial Forces before the forming of CMESS.
OOC- The Flag of CMESS is the banner of the Trebizond Empire (The black and white lines), overlapped by the flag of the Ottoman Empire, with a hammer and sickle in place of the crescent moon.
