Its compassionate population of 1.348 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded individuals is effectively ruled by the Department of Religion & Spirituality, with areas such as Healthcare and Social Equality receiving almost no funds by comparison. Income tax is unheard of. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

People caught mistreating The Gallant Old Republic's flag generally wind up in a great deal of pain, there has been a series of riots between local cannibals and health food advocates, the government spends millions of tax Gallants on vouchers to pay for expensive private schools, and religious classes are compulsory for all school students. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. The Gallant Old Republic's national animal is the European Deer, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Anglican Ordinate, and its currency is the Gallant.

The Gallant Old Republic is ranked 79th in Federation of Free States and 117,679th in the world for Largest Mining Sector, scoring -4 on the Blue Sky Asbestos Index.
