The Great Biofleets of The Fluidians is a massive, safe nation, renowned for its keen interest in outer space. Its compassionate, cynical population of 3.265 billion are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The enormous government concentrates mainly on Law & Order, although Public Transport and Defence are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of The Fluidian Capital Bioship. The average income tax rate is 25%, but much higher for the wealthy. A large private sector is led by the Trout Farming industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Information Technology.

Polygamy is legal, Red Cross demand for body bags are rising while sutures are decreasing, citizens must have a license to operate a computer, and the number of children one can have is restricted by law. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. The Fluidians's national animal is the bioship, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the biofluid.

The Fluidians is ranked 6th in Star Trek and 66,791st in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -14 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
