The Decapodian Dictatorship of The Dracion Islands is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by Glorious Zoidberg with an iron fist, and notable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 10.968 billion are ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, dictatorship government, which oppresses anyone who isn't on the board of a Fortune 500 company. Large corporations tend to be above the law, and use their financial clout to gain ever-increasing government benefits at the expense of the poor and unemployed.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, moralistic government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Defence, although Law & Order and Education are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of DRACONIA. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 93%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Uranium Mining industry.

Military geniuses responsible for brilliant campaigns are drummed out because they have close same-sex friends and an interest in interior design, citizens are barcoded to keep track of their movements, tourists are kicked out if they express interest in their national sport, and police officers have been re-kitted with designer uniforms and gold plated handcuffs. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. The Dracion Islands's national animal is the innocent bystander, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Zoidberg, and its currency is the cabbage.
