The Allied States of The Atlantic Forces is a colossal, devout nation, ruled by Leader with an even hand, and notable for its keen interest in outer space. Its compassionate, hard-working population of 8.078 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Social Welfare, with areas such as Commerce and Healthcare receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of The Atlantic Forces City. The average income tax rate is 100%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising fourteen-year-old boys selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The sound of wooden legs echo throughout The Atlantic Forces after the recent introduction of the Foot Tax, senior citizens can usually be found doing heavy manual labour, school uniforms are compulsory, and the wearing and manufacture of fur apparel is banned. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. The Atlantic Forces's national animal is the Phoniex, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Emerald Dollar.
