The Stellar Empire of The Arthropedic Accord is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Imperial Chancellor Orion Halvard Chitin with an even hand, and notable for its complete lack of prisons. Its compassionate population of 4.038 billion enjoy extensive civil rights and enjoy a level of social equality free from the usual accompanying government corruption.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Education, although Law & Order and the Environment are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Mantodea Terrace. The average income tax rate is 97%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Protests are legal but strictly supervised, wildlife near farms is slowly becoming extinct, the wearing and manufacture of fur apparel is banned, and the new hit series "The Arthropedic Accord's Got Trauma" has corporate executives fleeing the country. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. The Arthropedic Accord's national animal is the Scarab Beetle, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is secularism, and its currency is the Skarad.
