The Holy Empire of The Army of the Children of the Light is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by The Holy Knight with an iron fist, and remarkable for its unlimited-speed roads. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 2.582 billion are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, corrupt, pro-business individuals juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of The Citadel. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Uranium Mining.

Commuter vessels have trouble staying afloat due to increased passengers, the latest Harry Potter book is a bestseller, criminals are thrown to the Knights to repay their debt to society, and traffic jams are a common sight due to construction work from a massive overhaul of the nation's freeways. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. The Army of the Children of the Light's national animal is the Knight, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Christianity, and its currency is the Coin.

The Army of the Children of the Light is ranked 88th in The Royal Alliance and 41,131st in the world for Most Extreme, scoring 21 on the Paul-Nader Subjective Decentrality Index.
