The Allied States of The Andromeda Islands is a colossal, economically powerful nation, ruled by The National Assembly with an even hand, and remarkable for its anti-smoking policies. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 6.51 billion enjoy some of the most opulent lifestyles in the region, unless they are unemployed or working-class, in which case they are variously starving to death or crippled by easily preventable diseases.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Andromeda City. The average income tax rate is 37%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Book Publishing industry, followed by Beef-Based Agriculture and Retail.

Young children are regularly seen wagering pocket money at blackjack tables, the government has cut its subsidies for all special interest groups, the government is making attempts at curtailing the flood of spam emails with little progress, and citizens are allowed to rise or fall based on their own merits. Crime is well under control, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. The Andromeda Islands's national animal is the Eagle, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Andromedan Dollar.

The Andromeda Islands is ranked 3rd in Emeraldise and 8,963rd in the world for Most Influential, scoring 42 on the Soft Power Disbursement Rating.
