The Archangels of The Alice in Wondeland is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Emperor Hatter with an iron fist, and renowned for its hatred of cheese. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 4.255 billion are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The small, corrupt, moralistic government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Rensed. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 5%. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Arms Manufacturing.

The dead are minced up and sold to people in burger form, prosecutors routinely call transplant doctors as 'expert witnesses' in burglary cases, the state has declared war on the environment and environmentalists by association, and conscientious objectors are hanged as traitors. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. The Alice in Wondeland's national animal is the Omniscient, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is The Practice of sacrificing Children, and its currency is the Heart.

The Alice in Wondeland is ranked 10th in The Respected Realms and 6,302nd in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring 10 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
