The Free Land of Tespa is a massive, socially progressive nation, ruled by Leader with a fair hand, and renowned for its anti-smoking policies. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 1.663 billion enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Education, although Healthcare and Social Equality are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Arlandria. The average income tax rate is 74%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism industry, followed by Book Publishing and Furniture Restoration.

The government seizes private property for the 'good of the people', senior citizens can usually be found doing heavy manual labour, highschool principals regularly send armed truancy patrols to drag problem students to school, and innocent defendants often plea guilty for fear of receiving a much harsher sentence before jury. Crime is totally unknown. Tespa's national animal is the Nurean, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Kanda.
