The Ancient Empire of Telemnaria is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Dovahkiin Aethelred with an even hand, and remarkable for its complete lack of prisons. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 4.585 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Defence, with areas such as Social Welfare and Social Equality receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Dragons Keep. The average income tax rate is 96%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

Tourists outnumber citizens two to one, politicians are to be found scavenging bins at night to supplement their income, corporations donate huge sums of money to favored politicians, and cheating spouses are required to undergo job training. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Telemnaria's national animal is the Albino Telemnarian Frost Dragon, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Alduinism, and its currency is the Dragon Opal.

Telemnaria is ranked 4,387th in The North Pacific and 96,104th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -28 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
