The Republic of Teffrey is a massive, safe nation, ruled by President Slive with a fair hand, and remarkable for its unlimited-speed roads. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 1.67 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Commerce, Education, and Healthcare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Tefran. The average income tax rate is 90%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Book Publishing, Gambling, and Information Technology industries.

Loans are available for students from poor families, bizarre-looking creatures called 'Temobedogs' dominate wildlife preserves, Coco the Clown has been elected to the nation's parliament, and citizens may cast their vote over the internet or phone. Crime is totally unknown. Teffrey's national animal is the Temobe, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is a major religion, and its currency is the Coin.

Teffrey is ranked 96th in Empires of Earth and 97,479th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -30 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
