Overview • PeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Dictatorship of Tazekistan is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by Leader with an iron fist, and remarkable for its suspicion of poets. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 10.744 billion are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Defence, although Law & Order and Commerce are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Tazekistan City. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 12%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Automobile Manufacturing, Information Technology, and Arms Manufacturing industries.

The nation is reliant on the principle of mutually assured destruction to maintain its security, kids laugh off vandalism and arson as "just fun", citizens are regularly arrested in queues for 'loitering', and new urban roads are threatening city parks. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Tazekistan's national animal is the fish, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is a major religion, and its currency is the taz.

Tazekistan is ranked 2,909th in Balder and 131,376th in the world for Largest Welfare Programs, scoring -244 on the Safety Net Mesh Density Rating.
