The Theocracy of Tabeland is a colossal, safe nation, ruled by Leader with an iron fist, and notable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 8.549 billion are ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, dictatorship government, which oppresses anyone who isn't on the board of a Fortune 500 company. Large corporations tend to be above the law, and use their financial clout to gain ever-increasing government benefits at the expense of the poor and unemployed.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, moralistic government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Religion & Spirituality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Tabeland City. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 86%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

Camels with strange deformities like three eyes and tentacles have been seen prancing through the countryside where industrial waste is dumped, Animal Liberationists are regularly jailed, citizens are regularly arrested in queues for 'loitering', and the alarmingly racist TV show 'Bigtopians Say the Darndest Things' is a hit. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Tabeland's national animal is the camel, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is a major religion, and its currency is the droodle.

Tabeland is ranked 1st in Balder and 201st in the world for Most Influential, scoring 330 on the Soft Power Disbursement Rating.
