The Republic of Swanmori is a colossal, cultured nation, ruled by Abraham Cohen with an even hand, and renowned for its anti-smoking policies. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 6.502 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Equality, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Cohen. The average income tax rate is 58%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Pizza Delivery and Book Publishing.

Members of Parliament operate under a PAYE scheme, national parks have long lines of different gender-specific 'Porta-Pottys', nine out of ten citizens of Swanmori answered 'nuclear safety inspector' when asked their occupation, and guns are banned. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Swanmori's national animal is the lion, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the shekel pound.

Swanmori is ranked 100th in Europe and 15,027th in the world for Largest Mining Sector, scoring 4 on the Blue Sky Asbestos Index.
