The United Republics of Sulaymaan is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by Alastair Riothamus with an even hand, and renowned for its irreverence towards religion. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 11.348 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Defence, although Law & Order and Commerce are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Khotan. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 69%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Uranium Mining and Information Technology.

The government has enacted freedom of information, the national Police Academies have dedicated infant wings, protests are legal but strictly supervised, and phone taps are frequently carried out by the police. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Sulaymaan's national animal is the Sugar Glider, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Freedom of Religion, and its currency is the Sulaymaan soum.

Sulaymaan is ranked 10th in Nova and 93,520th in the world for Most Extreme, scoring 12 on the Paul-Nader Subjective Decentrality Index.
