The Kingdom of Suikodan is a colossal, cultured nation, ruled by Nova Galactic with an iron fist, and remarkable for its parental licensing program. Its compassionate, hard-working, cynical population of 8.662 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Suikoden. The average income tax rate is 97%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Tourism industry.

The government seizes all major gold finds, reporters often lose their jobs over fact-checking errors, the government has started a campaign to crack down on road rage and encourage alternate means of commuting, and the 'kind of scrawny' 500 meter hurdle is a popular event. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Suikodan's national animal is the cat, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Utilitarianism, and its currency is the crystal.

Suikodan is ranked 25th in The Commonwealth Of Furry Peoples and 99,687th in the world for Most Politically Apathetic Citizens, with -4 Whatever.
