The Empire of Sturisoma is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Emperor Kreu Patrembur with an iron fist, and renowned for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 4.383 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and the Environment. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Shenjtė Kodėr. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 92%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Tourism and Book Publishing.

The roads are notorious throughout the region for their peril, school uniforms are compulsory, Pinkerton agents are called in to forcibly break up white collar strikes, and people reciting Shakespeare have become a common sight. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Sturisoma's national animal is the lightning bug, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Sturisoman Orthodox Church, and its currency is the koob.

Sturisoma is ranked 16th in Brochis and 28,939th in the world for Most Politically Apathetic Citizens, with 4 Whatever.
