The Holy Red Empire of Sturisoma is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Emperor Kreu Patrembur with an iron fist, and notable for its punitive income tax rates. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 4.978 billion Sturisomen are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and the Environment. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Shenjtė Kodėr. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 94%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Tourism and Book Publishing.

Children as young as twelve are conscripted into the armed forces, inheritance tax has recently been abolished, midnight raids drag couples from their homes in the name of decency, and people faint regularly as they get stuck with compulsory vaccinations. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Sturisoma's national animal is the lightning bug, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Sturisoman Orthodox Church, and its currency is the koob.

Sturisoma is ranked 4th in Brochis and 5,307th in the world for Longest Average Lifespans, scoring 36 on the Enoch Index.
