Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 5.523 billion are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, moralistic government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Tameriel. The average income tax rate is 61%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

The national Police Academies have dedicated infant wings, the nation is reliant on the principle of mutually assured destruction to maintain its security, penurious citizens die from easily remedied ailments because they aren't 'taking enough initiative', and the military is blowing up any threat to employment within the nation. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Strykla's national animal is the Kah'kendov, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is mosquitoes SUCK, and its currency is the Kekse.

Strykla is ranked 1st in New Dinosaurtopia and 2,475th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring 26 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
