Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.292 billion are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Law & Order, although Defence and Education are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Moscûw. The average income tax rate is 78%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Uranium Mining, and Information Technology industries.

Scenic mountain valleys are flooded with water as damming projects get underway, government police forces protect public schools from the threat of protest, the people of Strov Socialist Republics are renowned for their nihilistic attitudes, and fur coats have become the latest fashion trend. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Strov Socialist Republics's national animal is the Olog-Hai, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Strov Par.
