The Commonwealth of Stromburg is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Prime Minister Jones D Kenobi with a fair hand, and renowned for its anti-smoking policies. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 3.668 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Commerce, Education, and Healthcare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Centreford. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 92%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology, Automobile Manufacturing, and Book Publishing industries.

Anti-government web sites are springing up, young children are regularly seen wagering pocket money at blackjack tables, the government is spending billions of taxpayer Strols to support the Information Technology industry, and 'A is for Annulment' is a popular children's song. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Stromburg's national animal is the Dragon, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Strol.

Stromburg is ranked 235th in The East Pacific and 9,271st in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -3 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
