The Huge Pants of Steatopygian is a colossal, cultured nation, renowned for its devotion to social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 9.436 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, the Environment, and Social Equality. The average income tax rate is 96%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Religious organizations are being forced to leave the country or pay income taxes like everybody else, all recreational drugs are legal, prime real estate is devoted to wind farms and solar energy generators, and all-natural foods are becoming a major fad. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is pervasive, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Steatopygian's national animal is the yeti crab, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the button.
