The Armed Republic of Statetastic is a massive, economically powerful nation, remarkable for its enforced nudity. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 1.078 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The medium-sized, pro-business government juggles the competing demands of Commerce, the Environment, and Law & Order. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 14%. A healthy private sector is led by the Gambling industry, followed by Basket Weaving and Retail.

A niche industry catering to S&M enthusiasts has sprung up, Statetastic's navy has been named the scourge of the seven thousand seas, penurious citizens die from easily remedied ailments because they aren't 'taking enough initiative', and an increasing percentage of the population's youth have homosexual parents. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is moderate, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Statetastic's national animal is the Raptor, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Farq.

Statetastic is ranked 3,352nd in The North Pacific and 70,662nd in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -15 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
