The Federation of States of Europa is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by President McAllister with an even hand, and renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 1.263 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Commerce, Law & Order, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Euro-Europia. The average income tax rate is 74%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism, Uranium Mining, and Furniture Restoration industries.

Condemned prisoners spend hours a day sitting in lotus position looking perplexed, the people of States of Europa are renowned for their nihilistic attitudes, a National Academy regulates grammar and usage, and the latest Harry Potter book is a bestseller. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. States of Europa's national animal is the European Eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Catholicism , and its currency is the European Mark.

States of Europa is ranked 19th in The United States of Europe and 84,934th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -19 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
