The Holy Blue of Sohviet is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Azazello with an iron fist, and notable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 2.219 billion are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Behemoth. The average income tax rate is 84%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Uranium Mining industry.

Politicians accepting drinks in bars are executed for taking bribes, murder victims' families receive windfall payouts when the murderers are executed, cremation is compulsory for the deceased, and conscientious objectors are hanged as traitors. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Sohviet's national animal is the Fox, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Behem.

Sohviet is ranked 47th in The North Pacific and 2,538th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring 26 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
