The Democratic Republic of Socrateous is a huge, devout nation, renowned for its absence of drug laws. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 853 million live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, pro-business individuals devotes most of its attentions to Education, with areas such as Social Equality and Healthcare receiving almost no funds by comparison. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 3%. A large private sector is led by the Retail industry, followed by Furniture Restoration and Cheese Exports.

Urban high-volume mailers now receive their mail via chauffeur-driven limousines, Socrateous's soft-touch approach to diplomacy has made it known as the 'push-over' of the region, schoolchildren have twice-weekly sex education classes, and Members of Parliament operate under a PAYE scheme. Crime is a major problem, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Socrateous's national animal is the Elephant, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the IPhone.
