The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Scientists regularly clone human beings for research purposes, elevator music has been replaced by thrash metal played at maximum volume, there's a shortage of swinging hot spots as land development grinds to a halt, and flash floods that dams could have controlled regularly ravage small towns in mountain valleys. Crime is totally unknown. Socialist Gaia's national animal is the Bear, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Gil.
