The Republic of Sleeposlovakia is a huge, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its museums and concert halls. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 855 million hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

A niche industry catering to S&M enthusiasts has sprung up, the nation is ravaged by daily union strikes, the public health bureaucracy is wrapped in miles of red tape, and the government seeks peaceful forum with terrorists. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a problem, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Sleeposlovakia's national animal is the Flakah, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Crunchie.
