The Exalted Monarchical Dominion of Sirix is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by King Robert XXXVII with an even hand, and renowned for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate population of 1.625 billion are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Education, although the Environment and Social Equality are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Igelstadt. The average income tax rate is 93%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Space research funding has hit a recent high while several military bases are being closed down, the government is giving peace a chance, the alarmingly racist TV show 'Bigtopians Say the Darndest Things' is a hit, and the armed forces are locked in an expensive and bloody war abroad to stamp out possible terrorists. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Sirix's national animal is the hedgehog, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the crown.

Sirix is ranked 6th in The Commonwealth of Crowns and 5,230th in the world for Largest Welfare Programs, scoring 94 on the Safety Net Mesh Density Rating.
