Its compassionate, hard-working population of 2.483 billion enjoy extensive civil freedoms, particularly in social issues, while business tends to be more regulated.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Education, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Caput. The average income tax rate is 90%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Woodchip Exports and Tourism.

Commercial jingles have been ham-handedly forced into world renowned symphonies, traffic jams are a common sight due to construction work from a massive overhaul of the nation's freeways, voting is voluntary, and the Silician Enquirer offers weekly cash prizes for 'most blasphemous song, story, or cartoon'. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Silician's national animal is the Bumblebee, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Credit.
