The United Socialist States of Siberistan is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Darth Revan with an even hand, and notable for its national health service. Its compassionate population of 1.281 billion are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Defence, and Social Equality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Siberistan City. The average income tax rate is 99%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

An increasing percentage of the population's youth have homosexual parents, most of the nation's wealthy aristocrats are dentists, the 'kind of scrawny' 500 meter hurdle is a popular event, and pharmacies close down as medicinal drugs are sold freely by the government. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Siberistan's national animal is the polar bear, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the dollar.

Siberistan is ranked 4,193rd in The East Pacific and 98,839th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -34 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
