Overview • PeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Dictatorship of SI II is a massive, devout nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-working population of 3.703 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The government -- a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked morass -- juggles the competing demands of the Environment, Religion & Spirituality, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 37%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The government has started a campaign to crack down on road rage and encourage alternate means of commuting, commercial jingles have been ham-handedly forced into world renowned symphonies, abortion is only legal in unusual circumstances, and all mothers are allowed six months fully-paid maternity leave. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. SI II's national animal is the condor, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Christianity, and its currency is the peso.

SI II is ranked 10th in New South America and 66,298th in the world for Largest Welfare Programs, scoring 16 on the Safety Net Mesh Density Rating.
