The The Place of Shadyrya is a massive, devout nation, ruled by Earl with an iron fist, and notable for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.645 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Defence, although Law & Order and Education are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Golf. The average income tax rate is 41%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Uranium Mining industry.

Island residents must resort to canoes and sailboats to get to work, Shadyrya's children are widely acknowledged as the most foul-mouthed in the region, Earl has just been declared ruler of Shadyrya in an international press conference, and 'removal of the heart' is the most common cause of death. Crime is moderate. Shadyrya's national animal is the Wolf, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Loiteranity, and its currency is the Taco.

Shadyrya is ranked 1,351st in Osiris and 67,315th in the world for Most Extreme, scoring 17 on the Paul-Nader Subjective Decentrality Index.
