The Totally Holy Armed Empire of Seomis is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Crown-Prince Seomis Augustus with a fair hand, and notable for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 4.437 billion are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Education, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Citadel of Seomis. The average income tax rate is 99%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism, Arms Manufacturing, and Book Publishing industries.

Cheese has become the new icon of political dissent, prices for nearly everything reach all time highs as business subsidies are discontinued, truth is often impossible to tell from fiction on the evening news, and the new 'Things We Stole From Other Countries' exhibition at the National Museum of Antiquities is a hit. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Seomis's national animal is the Wildboar, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is The Cult of Seomis, and its currency is the Krone.
