The Great and Holy Armed Empire of Seomis is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Marshall Seomis with an even hand, and notable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 2.325 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Defence, although Education and Commerce are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Citadel of Seomis. The average income tax rate is 97%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism, Arms Manufacturing, and Book Publishing industries.

Pristine wilderness has been trashed in the quest for cheaper oil, a large-scale revitalization of the education system is underway, major cities shut down as their local sports team takes to the field every day, and society and government have been organized according to a feudal hierarchy. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Seomis's national animal is the Wildboar, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is The Cult of Seomis, and its currency is the Krone.
