The Confederacy of Scythas is a massive, cultured nation, renowned for its museums and concert halls. Its hard-nosed population of 1.68 billion are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, the Environment, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Hungarikum. The average income tax rate is 71%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism industry, followed by Information Technology and Retail.

Citizens are regularly arrested in queues for 'loitering', there's a shortage of swinging hot spots as land development grinds to a halt, factories are regularly demolished to make way for low-cost housing areas, and all news sources are under strict government control. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Scythas's national animal is the Crow, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Florin.
