The Republic of Schlueter is a colossal, economically powerful nation, ruled by Jason with an iron fist, and remarkable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 5.111 billion are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Healthcare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of San Dimas. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Uranium Mining and Beef-Based Agriculture.
Drunk drivers are sentenced to death, torture is commonly used to extract information from suspected criminals, kittens with strange deformities like three eyes and tentacles have been seen prancing through the countryside where industrial waste is dumped, and the streets are increasingly clogged with poverty-stricken beggars. Crime is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Schlueter's national animal is the kitten, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the gumball.
Schlueter is ranked 101st in the region and 1,296th in the world for Largest Arms Manufacturing Sector.
