The Republic of Scheps is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by President with an even hand, and notable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its compassionate, hard-working population of 4.039 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

People caught mistreating Scheps's flag generally wind up in a great deal of pain, the government is notorious for leaving citizens with almost nothing from their inheritance, penurious citizens die from easily remedied ailments because they aren't 'taking enough initiative', and the latest Harry Potter book is a bestseller. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is moderate. Scheps's national animal is the longhorn, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the silver coin.
