The Grand Dominion of Scandavia is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Prince Konrad von Bleimen with an iron fist, and remarkable for its parental licensing program. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 3.47 billion are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Defence, although Law & Order and Education are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Karnevka. The average income tax rate is 73%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Uranium Mining and Information Technology.

Military spending recently hit a new high, retail stores offer sales every hour on the hour, military spending is on the increase, and the government seizes all major gold finds. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Scandavia's national animal is the Wolf, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is State Atheism, and its currency is the Imperial Credit.

Scandavia is ranked 3rd in Aysling and 18,320th in the world for Largest Public Sector, scoring 18 on the Bureaucratic Comprehensiveness Rating Scale Index.
