OverviewPeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Republic of Saryeven is a colossal, socially progressive nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. The hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 8.602 billion Saryevenians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, corrupt individuals is mainly concerned with Defence, although Law & Order and Education are secondary priorities. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Uranium Mining.

All telephone traffic is monitored for 'national security reasons', torture is commonly used to extract information from suspected criminals, visitors to the famed rainforests are instead taken to vast furniture factories, and eminent domain has been abolished. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Saryeven's national animal is the Black Panther, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Syn.

Saryeven is ranked 13th in Zarathustra and 763rd in the world for Most Scientifically Advanced, scoring 427 on the Kurzweil Singularity Index.
