OverviewPeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Republic of Saryeven is a colossal, socially progressive nation, renowned for its complete absence of social welfare. The hard-nosed, hard-working population of 8.447 billion Saryevenians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, corrupt individuals concentrates mainly on Defence, although Law & Order and Education are on the agenda. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 1%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Uranium Mining.

Schoolchildren have twice-weekly sex education classes, several citizens have complained about scientists abducting their pets for experimentation, all telephone traffic is monitored for 'national security reasons', and torture is commonly used to extract information from suspected criminals. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Saryeven's national animal is the Black Panther, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Syn.

Saryeven is ranked 15th in Zarathustra and 1,872nd in the world for Largest Trout Fishing Sector, scoring 9 on the Nemo Depletion Efficiency Index.
