OverviewPeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Kingdom of San Lumen is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by King Jason Von Habsburg with an even hand, and remarkable for its museums and concert halls. The compassionate, intelligent population of 11.772 billion San Lumenese are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Education, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Vienna. The average income tax rate is 95%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

New funding allows inner city teachers to replace school laptops almost as fast as they get stolen, San Lumen has one of the largest offshore wind farms in the world, phone taps are frequently carried out by the police, and biology and religious education classes have recently been merged. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is pervasive. San Lumen's national animal is the Mute Swan, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Giselle.

San Lumen is ranked 8th in Baradoz and 29,588th in the world for Most Scientifically Advanced, scoring 105 on the Kurzweil Singularity Index.
