OverviewPeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Kingdom of San Lumen is a gargantuan, cultured nation, ruled by King Jason Von Habsburg with an even hand, and renowned for its museums and concert halls. The compassionate, intelligent population of 11.748 billion San Lumenese are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Education, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Vienna. The average income tax rate is 94%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

Citizens are expected to be proficient in at least five languages, the nation leads Baradoz in per capita stalking, men avoid even so much as looking at female colleagues, and an increasing percentage of the population's youth have homosexual parents. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling. San Lumen's national animal is the Mute Swan, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Giselle.

San Lumen is ranked 7th in Baradoz and 29,822nd in the world for Most Scientifically Advanced, scoring 104 on the Kurzweil Singularity Index.
