OverviewPeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Kingdom of San Lumen is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by King Jason Von Habsburg with an even hand, and remarkable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. The compassionate population of 11.003 billion San Lumenese enjoy extensive civil rights and enjoy a level of social equality free from the usual accompanying government corruption.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Education, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Vienna. The average income tax rate is 91%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

Citizens are expected to be proficient in at least five languages, the recently unemployed can often be seen at the local homeless shelter, a ban on unsolicited cold calling in all forms is in effect, and conductors wield diamond-encrusted batons to fit in with their freshly gilded surroundings. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling. San Lumen's national animal is the Mute Swan, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Giselle.

San Lumen is ranked 1st in Baradoz and 600th in the world for Most Rebellious Youth, scoring 111 on the Stark-Dean Displacement Index.
