The Democratic Kampuchea of Saloth Sar is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Leader with an iron fist, and notable for its anti-smoking policies. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 4.968 billion are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

Teams of painters are converting road signs from horse lengths to kilometers, pristine wilderness has been trashed in the quest for cheaper oil, the government has begun breaking all large businesses into thousands of mom-and-pop general stores, and people regularly disappear off the streets and all evidence of them is destroyed. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Saloth Sar's national animal is the tiger, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Work, and its currency is the none.

Saloth Sar is ranked 2nd in Iran and 9,921st in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -4 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
