The Democratic Republic of Sabhailte is a massive, genial nation, ruled by Ceannaire with a fair hand, and remarkable for its irreverence towards religion. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 1.842 billion are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whoever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Welfare, and Social Equality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Breá. The average income tax rate is 76%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The number of students attending university has reached a record high, 'The Anti-Government Hour' is a popular programme on many of Sabhailte's radio stations, cars are banned from built-up areas, and school uniforms are compulsory. Crime is totally unknown. Sabhailte's national animal is the Bat Falcon, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Pin.

Sabhailte is ranked 4,063rd in the West Pacific and 96,197th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -28 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
