The Borderlands of Rynbelath is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Mistshika with an iron fist, and remarkable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.801 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Defence, with areas such as Social Equality and Social Welfare receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of RainbowDash City. The average income tax rate is 78%, and even higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Arms Manufacturing.

The government has begun selling heroin and ecstasy to help fund its projects, the mining industry is making inroads into environmentally sensitive areas, the alarmingly racist TV show 'Bigtopians Say the Darndest Things' is a hit, and movies and computer games are strictly censored for violence. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Rynbelath's national animal is the Fluttershy, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Twilight Sparkle, and its currency is the Nyath.

Rynbelath is ranked 468th in the West Pacific and 15,754th in the world for Shortest Average Lifespan, scoring -8 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
