It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Social Welfare. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Automobile Manufacturing, Arms Manufacturing, and Information Technology industries.

Citizens are frequently held up at gunpoint by their local pizza delivery boys, most of the military's funding goes into researching space-age weaponry, it's a common sight to see angry commuters with grenade launchers mounted on their vehicles, and citizens must pay to enjoy RX-8's pristine beaches. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. RX-8's national animal is the wheel, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the mod.
