The Marxist Union of Rusico is a colossal, genial nation, notable for its complete lack of prisons. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 6.628 billion are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whoever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Education, although the Environment and Social Equality are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Guevaragrad. The average income tax rate is 100%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

'The Anti-Government Hour' is a popular programme on many of Rusico's radio stations, the number of students attending university has reached a record high, it is illegal for police officers to carry out searches due to strict privacy laws, and national parks have long lines of different gender-specific 'Porta-Pottys'. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Rusico's national animal is the Great Red Bear, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Marx.
