The Empire of Rundashia is a massive, devout nation, ruled by Administrator Jake Alterberry with an even hand, and notable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 2.587 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Alterberry. The average income tax rate is 81%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Automobile Manufacturing, and Book Publishing industries.

Terrified tympanists are finding themselves on the front lines armed only with kettledrums, child adoption by homosexual couples has been outlawed, the Hawk is protected from hunting and slowly coming back from the brink of extinction, and bicyclists are banned from major roads. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Rundashia's national animal is the Hawk, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Christianity, and its currency is the Dollar.
